44 Sustainable Brands That Are Far From Boring

Wright Le Chapelain is a French-British brand, co-founded and co-designed by partners in life and work, Imogen Wright and Vincent Le Chapelain (guess which of the two is French…).

Launched in 2017, the two bring their combined experience studying menswear (Le Chapelain) and womenswear (Wright) at Central Saint Martins (the design school that gave us Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen) to a Made in Britain label turning tradition on its head. How? By reimagining tailoring, taking suiting and shirts, and tweaking shoulder seams and cuffs to deliver subtly off-kilter classics.

You can count on the duo for wardrobe building blocks: cotton poplin button-ups and wool tailoring in classic shades, and more recently, the ‘do it all’ midi-dress (easily dressed up or down, whether your thing is socks and sandals, or knee-high boots). ‘If you can’t wear the pieces in ten years, we’re not doing our job right,’ Le Chapelain adds. So there’s a timeless quality to their work, testament to Wright’s experience at Céline, and Burberry. Oh, and it’s sustainable, with fabrics sourced from UK-mills, and a transparent supply chain. Good fashion, on all fronts.
